EPSU expresses sympathy with UK victims of bomb attacks

In a letter to UK affiliated unions, EPSU today deplored the violence in London that has taken the lives of many workers and citizens:

The news we received yesterday about the attacks on London public transport struck us with horror and sadness.

EPSU deplores such violence and the killing and wounding of workers and citizens.

Public service workers find themselves confronted by these horrible acts as victims but also as providers of the essential services to the victims. We wish them much strength in their work.

Symbolic work stoppages have been organised by many unions across Europe at 12 noon today. The ICFTU, ETUC and European office of the TUC held a short ceremony outside the International Trade Union House here in Brussels in sympathy with the victims and their families.

Our thoughts are with the workers and citizens that have been the victims of this violence as well as with their families and friends.
